Getting Started
Chorus is a server of nations and towns. Nations are collections of towns and players. A town is a protected piece of land for only you and your comrades. You need to have a nation to do most of the activities on Chorus. You should get your nation going as soon as possible. Founding a nation is free.
➳To found a nation:
- Type: /nation found <insert the town name you want>[Hit Enter In Chat] e.g. /nation found Hoffland
- A nation will be created for you.
➳Your nation needs citizens and right now it's just you. Invite more in by:
- Type: /nation invite <player's name>[Hit Enter] Pro-tip: You can hit Tab to autocomplete.
- An invitation will be sent to them in chat.

[Accept]
.

➳You should make a banner to represent you nation, it will appear on your guard towers and on the website.
- Make a banner in-game.
- Hold it in your main hand.
- Type: /nation setbanner[Hit Enter]
Towns
➳To found a town:
- Find a spot for your town, use /town found to see if the location is allowed and what the cost will be.
- Make sure you clear a 9x9x9 space for the nexus pad.
- Make sure to have the fee on you.

➳To rename a town:
- Type: /town rename <new name>[Hit Enter]

➳Your town will have plots of land already claimed for you. A plot is a 16 x 16 block tract of land that belongs to your town. Claim more next your existing plots:
- Walk to unclaimed plot
- Type: /plot buy[Hit Enter]
- Repeat above for other plots.
➳You are limited on plots by your town level. To increase that, do Item Objectives:
- Right-click the spawner block on the Nexus in middle of the pad.
- Notice the 5 items, these are your weekly Item Objectives.
- Hover your mouse over one. It will ask for certain items.
- Fetch those items.
- Click that Item Objective with the items in your inventory.
- They will be deducted and your town level will increase - maybe with more plots available.
➳Beyond plots you can spend your nation coffer money on Guard-Towers, Camps, or Flak-Cannons.
- Guard-Towers spawn mobs to defend you.
- Camps give you a spawn-point anywhere, and you use them to besiege enemy towns.
- Flak-Cannons automatically shoot down hostile elytra fliers.
➳You probably don't want everyone in your nation having access to all commands. If you founded it, you are Leader but there are other ranks:
- SubLeader
- Trusted
- Recruits
➳All new players after the founder are in the Recruits group. They can't do much - no plot claiming, inviting new members, etc. You can promote them by:
- Type: /nation group add-player <player's name> <group name> [Hit Enter] Pro-tip: Hit Tab to autocomplete names.
Other commands:
- To remove a player from a group: /nation group remove-player <group name> <player's name>
- To get help on groups: /nation group help
For more information, use the /nation help command or reading Permissions Groups, and Zones..
Nation Coffers
Nations have a bank account referred to as coffers which are used to pay for land (plots), guard
towers, camps, and taxes.
You earn coffer money by completing Item Objectives which you can find by
right-clicking the Nexus in your town.
Use the /nation command to see how much money your nation has in the coffers.
Note: It against the rules to betray your nation, for example: stealing all the diamonds then leaving the nation.
Towns
A town is a physical location made up of Plots where you can build and is block
protected from non nation members.
Every town has a Nexus Pad which contains the Nexus and Silos
which are created when you found the town.
To create your town, stand somewhere with enough room for the nexus pad, then run /town found <your town name>
Key points about towns:
- A town is a physical place in the world that has block protections.
- Players do not join towns, they join nations.
- A nation can have more than one town.
- Only nation members can break/place blocks or open doors in your towns.
- Towns do NOT protect chests, make sure you put chests in a sealed room with a door.
- Towns start with 49 plots when they are founded.
- Towns must be at least 220 blocks away from other towns.
- You can set a personal spawn point in your town using /town spawn
- You can set a default spawn point for your town /town default-spawn
Use the /plot command to see how expensive it will be to setup a town at your current location.
To found additional towns, you must get the first town to level 5. The new town will NOT have any plots protections until it reaches level 5. To increase your town level you must complete item Item Objectives which you can find by right-clicking the Nexus in the town.
Plots
A town is made up of plots which are 16x16 block chunks of land, Only the land inside your towns
plots are protected.
Every plot in the world has a value, you can use the /plot command to see how much
a plot will cost to buy.
If you would like to expand your town, stand in a plot that you do not currently own and run
/plot buy to buy the plot.
You can also buy and sell plots via the Nation Manager web app which has a map of
your plots.
You can also use /plot help to see all the things you can do with plots.
- Players who are not in your nation CANNOT do the following inside your claimed plots:
- Break or place blocks.
- Use doors or trapdoors.
- Damage crops.
- Place boats.
- Pistons are physically unable to push blocks into or pull blocks out of plot protection.
- Players who are not in your nation CAN do the following inside your claimed plots:
- Attack you or your animals.
- Open chests, furacnes etc.
You can also use the zones & groups system to grant/restrict access to specific areas inside your towns to specific players.
Taxes
Every 24 hours, the server will deduct taxes from your nation coffers, the amount of tax is
calculated as
a percent of your nation's total plot value.
The current tax rate is 1% of all your
nation's
plot prices. It is important that your nation have enough money in the coffers to cover
the
taxes.
If you are unable to pay the taxes, the server will block you from your own town and
slowly
sell your plots until all debts are paid off.
Note that even nations with no towns will still have a small amount of tax.
Use /nation tax to see what your tax info is.
Alliances
A nation can mark another nation
as
either: Friendly, Hostile or Neural. This will change the color of their name tags in the tab
list.
If two nations both set each other to friendly, they have a 'two way alliance' which has some
implications for Sieges.
Alliance status has implications for Guards and Sieges, you can read more in the Siege Help Guide
Pressure Pads
In towns stone pressure pads can only be triggered by players, not mobs.
If a stone pressure pad or stone button is placed on colored concrete it will only activate depending on the player's allegiance.
- Lime - Only nation members
- Light Blue - Nation members and nations marked as Friendly
- Yellow - Neutral nations or players not in a nation
- Red - Nations marked as Hostile.
- Orange - Nations marked as Hostile or Neutral
- Green - Normally only nation members, but during a Siege it will allow any player who is on the defending team.
Every town contains a 9x9 pad that is created when the town is founded. This pad services a number of important functions.
- It is the default spawn point for our town, unless you change that using the /town default-spawn command.
- Right-clicking the Nexus will provide you with Item Objectives which is how you earn coffer money and town levels.
- It will automatically refill your Silos (the barrels) with random items each day.
- When the town is under attack, the objective of the attackers is to steal the Nexus and anything in the Silos..
Item Objectives
Each day your town will be assigned a set of item objectives which will be things like "Collect 64 Carrots"
When you collect the required items and give them to the Nexus, your will be rewarded with both coffer money and town levels.
The coffer money can be used to pay taxes, expand your town or hire guard mobs. The town levles will allow you to setup additional towns.
An important thing to know about the portals is that they move around every 24-48 hours.
This is done to distribute players and their environmental destruction across the map evenly while also allowing players to explore new areas of the world.
Silos
Every 24 hours the silo barrels will be refilled with an assortment of items some of which can only be obtained from Silos. Some items may only spawn for specific towns you may need to trade with other nations to get the items you need.
